facial features

So, I went to Kinko's last week to get a copy of our ultrasound picture to send to our parents.  I'm not always a fan of Kinko's.  I feel like when you need help there is no one around and when you don't there is someone watching over your shoulder making sure you don't break the copy machine.  Anyways, I went in and met this really nice guy who helped me.  He even noticed the date on the picture and copied it on special photo paper and gave it to me for free as a congrats gift.  I thought, "Wow, what a nice guy!  Maybe I am wrong about Kinko's?"  While I was there, I thought I would get a passport photo taken (since I've slacked for almost 2 years and haven't updated it since we got married).  So, I asked him and he directed me to this younger girl for help since he needed to finish a project.  I said, "okay, thanks!" and went over to the younger girl with an interesting mullet she had purposely cut.  Passport photos as with any official ID picture usually stress me out a bit since it's official and you will have it for quite some time.  So, I purposely had cute hair that day and put on lip gloss before I walked in.  I stood nice and tall (trying to ignore the crowd of people that were staring at me as they waited for their copies to print) and smiled.  The girl took the picture and looked at the digital camera.  After pausing for a moment, she commented back, "Hmm, let's take another one.  When you smile, it distorts your facial features and does not work for you!"  Our of shock, disbelief, and pure amazement, I just smiled (which she clearly didn't like).  How could a girl with a mullet tell me I had distorted facial features?  Really?  So, I followed her directions and took the most serious picture I could.  She looked at the 2nd picture and said, "Oh yes, much better."  10 minutes later I left with the worst mug shot I have ever seen.  Cute hair, glossy lips, and absolutely no smile.  Horrible!  Even worse than my 15 year old driver's permit.  After paying the $15, I left the store in shock, drove home, and put it in the paper shredder.  Lucky for me, I went to Costco tonight and had another picture taken.  She even let me look before she printed it off.  So nice...that's why I love Costco!

Moral of the story:  don't listen to girls with mullets tell you you have a distorted face.  My new picture proves her wrong.
