an ordinary life.

Fall has arrived! Nothing very exciting has been happening other than just filling our days with school, preschool, house projects and lots of family time.
The other weekend Matt decided to clean out the gutters. Somehow that turned into trimming some branches off of one tree. Then, it became trimming several trees. And before we knew it, whole trees were coming down and we had ordered a dumpster to get rid of 12 trees from the front and back yard. Crazy, I know.
And I love this picture. Lucy not caring about yard work but playing on the IPad instead. Carter "helping" and Matt hard at work.
Both the front and back yard needed a lot of work when we moved in and we are now seeing some good progress. Hopefully by next summer it'll be done!
This little one just loves to roll, roll, roll!
I try to walk to and from school as much as I can. This particular morning I let Simon ride in the stroller for the first time. He wasn't too impressed. He's still a little small and needed to be propped up quite a bit but hung in there for the ride. Lucy loved being next to her brother so we'll have to do more of this in the future, but for now I think I'll keep him in the ergo.

Carter is always such a good helper!
Growing and becoming quite the active little boy.
A preview of Lucy's Halloween costume. This year she kept changing her mind from one Disney Princess to the next. Then suddenly one morning she decided she wanted to be an owl and the idea just stuck. It's not that easy to find an owl costume for a little girl. There are tons of cute ones for babies but we had very limited options for a preschooler. In the end she chose this brown barn owl.  I think it's a bit ridiculous but she's still cute and is so excited.

Helping me very early one morning fold laundry. Lots and lots of laundry!

On Wednesdays Lucy knows it's her preschool day so even though we don't go until the afternoon she always wants to wear her backpack to the bus stop with Carter. Love how excited they both are for school each day.
 More tummy time.

 And more bumbo time!
 And of course sleepy time.
And finally a Halloween preview for Carter. For the 3rd year he's chosen to be Peter Pan, his most favorite character ever. I hope, just like Peter Pan, he never grows up!
