We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. It started by driving down to Matt's parents house for some special boy/girl time.  The boys went fishing and the girls went to the farmer's market.  Sadly, Carter didn't catch anything on his first fishing adventure but he did say he had fun and wants to go back again sometime!

The farmer's market was crowded but so fun to walk around and see all the beautiful flowers out for Mother's Day.  Lucy had fun with both grandmas too!
We stopped to see the shelter dogs and Lucy loved it.  She is obsessed with dogs and will run away from us to chase any dog she sees.
Later that day Matt and I got to go out for a day of shopping and dinner.  It was so nice to spend some time with just the 2 of us.
The next morning we woke up to a delicious breakfast.  I really just wanted to get a good picture with the kids.
First we had to be silly to get them interested. Instead Lucy is looking at me like I'm crazy and Carter just looks creepy.
I got Carter to smile but Lucy still loved her thumb.
So we tried standing up but then the kids got distracted.
So I let Carter go play and took a few shots with my little girl.
We left for home, stopped for coffee and the kids fell asleep.  It was such a nice, quiet drive home we decided to just keep driving.  Somehow we ended up in Monroe when the kids woke up so we stopped at a local park to play for a bit.
It was a little bright and windy.

We finally made it home and I left the kids with Matt while I went for a pedicure and grocery shopping (alone!).
Later that night the kids played outside while Matt made dinner.
Steak salad with roasted carrots and fresh pineapple.  Yum!!
It was a perfect Mother's Day weekend.  Plus, my gift was a reservation at a campsite in August for our 1st annual family camping trip.  Can't wait!!!
