my little hula girl.

Some of my favorite pictures of Lucy from the trip:
Snuggling in our bed.  Lucy is always the first to wake up in our family and this week we took full advantage of a big, comfy bed with lots of cuddle time in the mornings.
She just loved the deck. The sliding glass door was open 90% of the time so she could freely come and go, wave hi to other visitors and squeal at the chickens and birds flying around.

Notice a theme.  Almost every picture she's on the deck!
Kathy bought her this adorable hula girl outfit from a local store. Matt thought it was ridiculous so it made me even more excited to dress her up and have a little photo shoot.  She got the nicest comments from people and secretly, I think Matt thought she was adorable too.

I took her to the beach for some water shots. We met up with Matt, Carter and Tom.  Since Carter was a little afraid of the big waves we stayed up at the very top of the beach to be sure he couldn't get wet.  About 10 seconds after I took this picture a gigantic wave came crashing up on shore, went up to Lucy's waist and took Carter's crocs back into the ocean!  I scooped up Lucy as she was soaking wet, sandy and a bit startled while Matt ran into the ocean (with all the towels!) to get Carter's shoes.  Somehow he got knocked down by another wave, fell on his butt and then got hit by a kid on a boogie board.  As he went to stand up, he got hit again with another wave!  At this point I was cracking up, another woman had run in to help Matt retrieve the shoes, Carter was terrified his daddy was getting swept away and Tom was laughing harder than me!  Funniest moment of the week.  And, all because I wanted this picture.

She loves her baby doll and purse!
Chasing chickens.  Her favorite morning activity.
The resort has a little playground in the gardens that was perfect for Lucy when we needed some down time.
 Messy girl.
She's loving peek-a-boo games right now.

 Ready for the pool!
On our flight home she was so determined to figure out the seat belt.
 One very tired girl.
