spring break putt putt

>> April 15, 2018

To celebrate the start of spring break this year we wanted to spend some family time together. And what better way to spend family time than with putt putt?!
We had a free day before we left on our spring break getaway (another post coming soon) and the sun came out so we headed to Redmond to play at their beautiful course.
In the morning I helped Lucy finish up her science project first. The school science fair is just a few weeks away and she wanted to have her display board finished in time!
For her first science fair project she studied ice cream to see how long it would take different flavors to melt. We tested chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and mint chip and observed the results at 10, 15 and 20 minutes. Then....she ate them all up (with a little help from Simon of course). I love how it turned out and she had so much fun.
I love science and teaching the kids how really anything, even ice cream, can be science is awesome.

Then it was off to play putt putt! Yes, it was a little chaotic but mostly it was really fun. For 3 kids who had never played before I was actually impressed how well they did and how they didn't give up. Simon picked up his ball and set it down wherever he pleased but the other kids really got into it and tried their best to putt each and every time!

Now we can't wait to try out another course!
