a sports filled birthday week.

These final weeks of school are no joke. So many activities crammed into each and every day that I can barely keep up! Throw in a special birthday and it was an exciting week around here.
This little goofball turned 3!! It has been so fun celebrating him and all his favorite things the past few days.
It started with a typical birthday morning opening presents and we kept it simple. A new (wooden!) bat, 2 puzzles and some goggles for swim lessons. He was so excited! I had to work that day so he headed off to play with his best friend for the day. A picnic at the park was the perfect way to celebrate.
After work we came home for a special dinner. His absolute favorite meal...strawberry waffles with extra whip cream! While I was cooking dinner he fell asleep on the couch and would not wake up. The kids sang shouted Happy Birthday and he was completely out. Poor guy. Luckily dinner perked him back up again before we had to leave for soccer practice.
He happily played with his new bat and ball while Lucy practiced and we ended the night with an early bedtime. Fun, simple day for the birthday boy!

The next morning I got to help out at field day for Carter and Lucy. I just love their school, all the participation from parents and the fun activities for kids.

That night was Carter's last football game of the season. The had a terrific season, ended with a 6-1 record and had so much fun. We celebrated with a date night at Costco while buying Simon's party food. Ha - Carter loved it and anytime I can get some one-on-one time I'll take it.

Yesterday morning we finished off Lucy's soccer season with 1 last game. Her team was great this year too (and the coach was amazing...not biased at all!). The little brothers happily played in the field together. Love these families and the community we've built up around us.

We came home for a few hours, packed up the van and headed to the park for a special party. What a week!
