Lucy's poppy party.

2 weeks ago I threw a Harry Potter themed Party for Carter. Fifteen 2nd grade boys wildly running through the house, casting spells, eating ALL the food and having fun. And yesterday...I did it all again. Only this time is was thirteen kindergarten girls and a Trolls themed pajama party. Whew. December birthdays are no joke.
But, I think it was absolutely perfect and so fun for everyone!
The decor was much more simple (aka...I was so tired from Carter's party I just didn't have the energy to do it all again) but I really loved it. Teal and pink throughout the house, lots of glitter and breakfast food for snacks. We had a yogurt parfait bar, mini blueberry muffins and plain cake donuts to decorate.

I let the girls make their own trolls headbands with tulle and ribbon which was such a fun craft!

 Ready to go!!

These girls were so fun. At Carter's party it was volume 100 the minute after the first guest arrived. This party? All the girls spent 20 minutes quietly coloring waiting for everyone to come before starting the crafts. So different!!!
After their headbands were done! They got a little excited with the glitter foam stickers so not all the hair stayed standing up tall but no one seemed to mind.

After eating we played Trolls bingo. A big hit!

Then it was piƱata time! I didn't tell Matt that besides candy I put in 2 full bags of confetti. Ha! He was probably more surprised to see it than the girls were! And now we'll be finding little gold and silver starts in our carpet for the next 8 months.

 Next, fruit loop necklaces!
And then donut time. These girls weren't messing around with the sprinkles. They were everywhere. Luckily, most girls realized they were going to get a horrible stomach ache and actually chose to save their donut for home to eat later. Whew!

Finally presents! Such generous friends and all so excited to get as close as possible to watch Lucy open each gift.

Matt was cleaning the entire party - between glitter, confetti and sprinkles the house was, umm, a bit, colorful?!?

I just love this picture. Such excitement and joy. Even though these parties take all my energy to plan and prep the result is so worth it. She loved every minute and will remember this for years. Happiest birthday Lucy!!
