it's gonna be may.

>> April 30, 2019

Tomorrow is May 1st. What the heck? April whizzed on by and while I need to catch up on pictures from our fabulous spring break vacation I'll instead throw out some randomness from our busy life. Between spring sports, school activities, a little sickness and baking in the kitchen this last month flew right on by.
Simon is SO three. He's charming, silly, stubborn but mostly so fun. He's constantly trying to keep up with the big kids and all their friends while still asking to cuddle up on the couch. He'll ignore you one second and then show off that big dimple and melt your heart the next.

I'm taking every chance I can to bake in the kitchen lately. New cookbooks to inspire me, recipe testing and taking treats to friends. Always my favorite hobby. I whipped up this orange olive oil cake one night before dinner. Simple, clean ingredients and the perfect amount of sweetness to finish off the night!

Matt took the kids to Mariner's Fanfest a few weeks ago. They loved playing catch on the field, meeting players and touring the locker rooms. Simon was in heaven!

Spring sports are in full swing these days. Between flag football for Carter, baseball for Simon and soccer for Simon and Lucy we are busy. But watching them stay active while doing something they love is the best. I'll support that 100%.

Lucy chose to bake for her science experiment this year. She made vanilla and chocolate cupcakes and sent them to school to see which flavor the teachers would like better. Such a fun idea! Chocolate won by 1 little vote but at the end of the day they were all devoured.

If Simon isn't playing baseball he's at home practicing. All day long.

We've been riding bikes, playing at the park, and throwing the football or baseball around most afternoons.

To balance out all those sports we've cozied up inside some days too. Simon was hit with a nasty ear infection after vacation which led to over a week of antibiotics and some serious pain. (to make a long story short!). So, family movie night and playtime was the perfect fix.

More baseball on the weekends.

Another special treat...this time a lemon cheesecake tart for Easter!
A quick date night for Lucy and Matt at the Daddy Daughter Dance (seriously, so cute)

And....more baseball.
