we wish you a merry christmas.

Christmas morning finally arrived after a long month of anticipation! I just adore watching the kids' faces light up during the entire day. It's so magical and wonderful and exciting. Lucy woke up extra early that morning to sneak downstairs and see the presents under the tree. I'm pretty sure she never fell back asleep after I sent her back to bed. Can you blame her?!
Our tradition is to open stockings before my parents come over to start the morning off slowly. Otherwise it would be a mad dash for all the presents and the excitement would be over before 7am.
The kids each got new toothbrushes (sounds lame but they were so excited!), bandaids (again lame but it's more fun than the usual beige ones we buy), a piece of candy, new bells for their bikes and of course...scratch tickets! Sadly, there were no big winners this year.

We let Matt open up a present early since the kids were so excited to give him what they chose. It was the perfect thing to wear on Christmas morning too. New pajama pants! And not just any pants but Harry Potter ones. He was thrilled. :)

My parents came over and we enjoyed a yummy breakfast before diving into the gifts.

The joy on their faces just never gets old!

After everything was opened we got ready to head down to Matt's parents house.

After a quick snack of Christmas cookies and homemade chex mix it was time for more presents!

Simon's big gift this year was a motorized quad. I couldn't believe how quickly he learned how to push the button to make it drive. Now if only he could learn to steer!

A small moment of relaxing while the kids ran wild with their new toys.
We spent the night before coming home the next day and playing with all the new things. Simon loves his drum set, Lucy is having fun with her new Cinderella dress and both kids have already assembled 2 big Lego sets!

It was another amazing Christmas season. I'm always ready to put away the decor and get the house reorganized but I also miss the joy of this season. It's even better celebrating it all with these 3 beautiful kids. Merry Christmas!
